Throughout our history, Johnson & Galyon has implemented a successful, comprehensive safety program.  Our Safety Program is the responsibility of our Operations Manager, Bob Perry.  Each project manager and superintendent handles enforcement of the program on individual jobs. We routinely involve our employees in safety training to ensure they perform tasks safely.

Weekly safety meetings are conducted on job sites and include Johnson & Galyon staff as well as all subcontractors and their employees.  We maintain and routinely update a comprehensive Safety Manual. Additionally, we engage an outside consultant who frequently reviews our policies and critiques job site safety.

Since we operate primarily in East Tennessee, we provide stable employment opportunities.  As a result, we attract and keep the best employees.  The consistency of our employees coupled with ongoing training gives us a good safety record in an inherently dangerous industry.

A key ingredient to our safety success has been drug testing. We implemented a post-accident drug test policy in 1987. In addition, we have been a certified participant in the Tennessee Drug-Free Workplace program since 1998. This keeps drug abusers off our payroll and conveys a strong commitment to safety.
